Service times and pastoral contact
A church letterhead does something most others do not: it invites. Alongside the name and address, many carry service times, and nearly all carry a named pastoral contact rather than a general office line — because somebody reading a letter from a church may be reading it at a difficult moment and needs a person to call, not a switchboard.
Service times sit naturally in the footer, where they are available without competing with the letter. If times change seasonally, the footer is also the easiest line to update and re-export.
One letterhead, several kinds of letter
Churches write pastoral letters, notices about the building, giving statements and letters to the wider community, and the tone ranges across all of them. A design warm enough for a bereavement letter and plain enough for an annual giving statement is a real constraint, and the usual answer is a quiet header with a warm colour rather than decorative artwork.
If the ministry is a registered charity, the registration number usually belongs on anything about money. The footer fields hold it, and can be switched off for pastoral correspondence where it would be out of place.
